
- Toordal - 1 cup
- water - 3 cups
- Tomato - 2 big(finely chopped)
- Small onion - 1
- Green chillies - 8 finely chopped
- Cilantro
- Garlic - 1 pod
- Turmeric - ¼ tsp
- Red Chilli powder -1/2 tsp
- Marble-sized tamarind
- Cumin seeds - 1/2tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
- Red chillies - 2
- Oil - 2tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Curry leaves
Procedure:
- Wash Toor dal well and add 3 cups of water.
- To this, add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric, red chilli powder, cilantro, tamarind, garlic and pressure cook for 3 -4 whistles or till it is cooked.
- When the dal is cooked add the salt.
- Heat oil in a pan, fry the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chilies, onion and when they are done add into the dal.
- Serve with rice or chapathis.
